Wasilla, Alaska, Sarah Palin & Me

I’ve always been interested in politics.  Growing up in a home of documentary filmmakers who had the passion to yell at the TV every night, and the intellectual chops to back it up, it was probably inevitable that despite my heavy leaning into pop culture and entertainment as the main lens for my career’s narrative, politics was definitely the second loudest thing I wanted my work to argue about.

I was surprised that I actually jumped on the 10-hour flight to Wasilla after accepting the dare to find out if Sarah Palin’s beloved small town had any brown people in it at all, but getting kicked out of the tiny Wasilla Public Library, the site of Sarah’s alleged “burn the books” moment, made it so worthwhile…
